JULGE
hi everyone, i want to share with you a text, about Julge and his transmitter, from a french colleague of Mr.Urmas:
"L'arrêt des émissions n'est pas explicable, pas de signe avant coureur de faiblesse de l'émetteur. On peut penser à un accident soudain de l'émetteur (destruction?)
Apparemment pas de traces de l'oiseau sur le terrain
Si d'aventure c'était un "simple" ennui mécanique, ne désespérons pas. Par le passé dans une situation similaire un oiseau avait été considéré comme mort et avait été revu sur un nid 2 ans plus tard. Croisons les doigts."
with GT translation:
The stopping of transmissions the data cannot be explained, no warning sign of weakness on the part of the transmitter. We can think of a sudden accident of the transmitter (destruction?)
Apparently no traces of the bird on the ground
If by any chance it was a "simple" mechanical problem, let's not despair. In the past in a similar situation a bird was considered dead and was seen on a nest 2 years later.
Let’s keep our fingers crossed.

informations from birdmap - Eedi: http://birdmap.5dvision.ee/EN/2021/autu ... =0&speed=1
Eedi is male Black Stork (white ring with black code 712W on left leg). His foraging sites and breeding site are situated in southern Estonia, close to Latvian border, in Karula National Park.

Eedi visits the nest from Karl II (video by liznm)
Apr 8, 2021 • there was a gap in the stream. so the arrival is missing!

EEDI - continuation
we have the opportunity to follow his migration since 2015 (September)
Eedi winters in the south of Kingdom of Saudi Arabia - Asir Province (only few individuals are known to winter in this area); it mostly moves in the valley of the river Bisha and in the dam areas
Kingdom of Saudi Arabia https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Saudi_Arabia
'Asir Province https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/%27Asir_Province
Bisha Governote https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bisha - "the Bisha Valley (the longest valley in the Arabian Peninsula)"

EEDI continuation - current situation on October 1
Eedi started this autumn migration on 18.08.2021. He continued to migrate south on 10.09 after a few stops on stop-over sites in Ukraine (ponds).
The Sea of Marmara he crossed on 13.09, the Gulf of İskenderun on 18.09 and on 20.09 Eedi send data already from Saudi Arabia.
Even now (as every year), Eedi stopped at one of the dams before arriving at the winter quarters.
previous data: 29.09.2021, distance 5256 km (+18 km); north from the dam area, Bidah Valley, Al Bahah Province, Saudi Arabia
new data: 30.09.2021, distance 5271 km (+15 km); same area

dam area = feeding area

rocky mountains = night-resting area
