Hello! TIMMU sent data again!

Birdmap update 31.01.22

Previous data: 22.01.22. Distance 7299 km. Metema district in the North Gondar Zone, Amhara National Regional State, NW Ethiopia.
New data: 31.01.22. Distance 7416 km(+117 km/9 days). Same area.

Timmu is in his main area, flying between different feeding places and his favourite area near the quarry.

On the picture are marked some of the places Timmu used to fly to, but almost all the time he returned to his favourite area for the night.


It's good to know, that everything is OK! but I think there is not much to add today...Timmu is in an area where there is not much information to take of his current locations...so a general map must do for now.

Timmu spends time like usual- walking along the Wudi Gemzu river for food and roosting in his favourite spots near the quarry.

we don't have an update for any bird since 24.02 on the birdmap (Timmu: last update/data 04.02)
birdmap will probably be set up to spring migration in few days (March 1 ?)

Hello hello! We have some good news! Timmu has an updated birdmap until 14.02.

He stayed still in his wintering area in Ethiopia.
More detailed update later

There is also an update available for Karl II!

I have been in contact with Urmas, and the springtime is very very busy for him. There are simply not enough hours in the day to get everything done...so spring migration map is coming at an unknown time. We just have to be patient!

Birdmap update for 14.02.2022

Previous data: 04.02.22. Distance 7445 km. Metema district in the North Gondar Zone, Amhara National Regional State, NW Ethiopia.
New data: 14.02.22. Distance 7710 km(+265 km/10 days). Same area.

Timmu stayed in his main wintering area, visiting familiar feeding places along the Wudi Gemzu river. On 9.February he took a longer trip , about 60 km to the east near Chirchin. He returned the next day back to his main area.

The grey spots mark different places that Timmu visited since the last map update. The red spot is is roosting spot.
