About the Nubian desert:
The River Nile separates North Sudan into a west and east part. While west of River Nile the part is called the Libyan Desert, east of Nile the part is called the Nubian Desert. However, the north part of Sudan belongs to the Sahara desert.
The Nubian Desert has a very arid climate. The landscape is mostly flat and rocky. Hills of lava stone from early volcanic activities are visible.
The vegetation is very rare, only some trees and little grass that’s all.

Previous data: 13.03.22. Distance 1055 km(starting from 15.02). Nubian Desert, Red Sea state, SUDAN. East from the Nile.
New data: 21.03.22. Distance 3291 km (+2236 km/ 8 days) Göksu river near Köseleri village in the Mersin Province, South TURKEY.

Daily average distance 280 km.

Since the last update on 13.03, Timmu continued to move north in a very resolute way-without any longer stopovers. He covered a good amount of distance every day.
Timmu crossed the Suez Gulf on 17.03 and he even didn't make any longer stops in Israel fish ponds. He crossed the Iskenderun Bay/ East-Mediterranean already on 21.03, making his final stop in Turkey.

Next stop was already in Jordan Valley, near Damia. Timmu made a feeding stop in the Zarqa River on 19.03


On 20.03 Timmu flew all day until he reached the border of Lebanon-Syria.

21.03 Timmu made a very straight-forward flight and made a quite big shortcut over the Iskenderun Bay- more like over the Eastern Mediterranean Sea. He flew over Latakia.

Timmu flew to Lake Suğla in Konya Province. He used the nearby farmlands for feeding. Also Karl II visited this same lake just the day before- on 21.03.

Timmu visited the Beyşehir Lake. He flew to the upper part of the lake, which is a part of the Kızıldağ National Park (Red Mountain NP) in Isparta Province, near the village Sarıkaya. Karl II was also in this exact same place on the same day! Makes me think that this may be a place where hundreds of birds gather during their migration...

It almost looks like Timmu and Karl II continued their journey together, but still there are some significant differences in their flight paths, although they were going in a very similar direction.
Last location of Timmu shows a path over a valley near village Belevi in Çal district, Denizli Province.
