It's been 1 hour since Skierka arrived. After some preening and self-care, she stands calmly in the nest with her bill tucked in her feathers. It must be still a little cold.. Let her rest and warm in the sunshine
But I wonder how long will she have to wait for Tytan? This is a reversed situation- female arrives before male. We will see if Skierka starts to arrange the nest or patiently wait for the male to arrive.

Skierka arrived to this nesting area on March 30 (2021)
both were noticed on the nest for the first time on April 18 (2021) - video here viewtopic.php?p=1169#p1169
Skierka arrived first because she is wintering so near - only in Greece (also Spain is further)

The female of the black stork equipped with a GPS-GSM logger as part of the Storks in Forest project (Forest Experimental Station of the Warsaw University of Life Sciences in Rogów vs the Eagle Conservation Committee) returned yesterday to the vicinity of the nest. She searched for food and slept 7 km further on the Szarka River. Today she sat on the nest for the first time. She covered the route from the winter camp in Greece on the Struma River in 7 days without any stops. It flew 1510 km. She stayed at the wintering site for 172 days in the company of 18 other storks, of which at least 2 were also storks from Poland (the rings were read). Skierka knows at least 2 other nests within a radius of 40 km. We hope male Titan will arrive soon and we will be able to admire this pair throughout the season

19.15 camera time - the nest is empty
- storks don't stay in the nest until they have eggs (even at night)
- males usually stays nearby - he protects the territory and waits for the female (we don't have to see him on the camera)
- females rarely restores the nest
