Bird Profile:

Ringing data:
I have both the ornithological and colour ring numbers, but I’ve been asked to handle them with caution (e.g. to prevent misuse in false reports).
If you spot a ringed stork in the wild, on a webcam, or in the media, please contact me via a Private Message.

WALLI

birdmap description: (2025)
A Black Stork hatched in 2025, but its origin is unknown. It was feeding with other Black Storks (up to 13 individuals) at the Mustjõe flood plains and oxbows, where we organized additional feeding for the Black Storks that were stopping over. Based on its measurements, Walli could be a male, but we cannot be sure. After flying on from the Mustjõe River flood plains, Walli stopped about 30 km south at the Koiva River flood plains. It clearly began its migration on September 5.

PHOTO the confluence of the Blue and White Nile Rivers:
Image

The White Nile and Blue Nile rivers meet in the city of Khartoum, the capital of Sudan. Here they form the great Nile River, which then flows north through Egypt to Cairo and empties into the Mediterranean Sea. In this image taken in the 2005 dry season, the still-flowing White Nile is at left, and the nearly dry Blue Nile curves at right. The source of the White Nile, near the equator in Uganda, produces a nearly constant flow throughout the year. The Blue Nile, by contrast, rises from the highlands of Ethiopia where it is fed by the rainfall of summer monsoons, producing floods in autumn but drying out in the spring.
