Re: Tajo Internacional (Natalio/M and Zica/F)
That's most probably the wing its sibling accidentally pulled during feeding, mistaking it for food (on 02.06.2026 at 19:26). It looked like a really strong pull. I wonder if the joint could have been dislocated or severely strained by that harsh tugging.
The chick is 32 days old now, and its wings are growing rapidly and getting much heavier. Even if it wasn't a full dislocation, the extra weight of the growing feathers must be putting a lot of strain on that injured joint. The chick is still very young, so hopefully, it will recover before fledging.
Let's hope the wing strengthens as the chick grows. Hopefully, it will heal well.

CHICKS

- Chick 1: 33 days old, Chick 2: 32 days old, Chick 3: 30 days old
Egg 4: Laid 07 April - unhatched
Stork chicks grow exponentially. 90 days in the nest is like 18-21 years for humans. This means that 1 day in the nest is like almost 3 months for a human child. That is why their transformation is so amazing and fast.

youtube chat info - thx to everyone
translation: gemini chat helps
9:45 1/Feeding. Natalio.
The nest gets a lot of sun. - But that's inevitable, I think it's like that all day in all the nests. - Some days the father came and acted as an umbrella.
marika.solo: again and agian these worries
- Africa: Black storks spend half of the year in Africa. Their bodies have been perfectly adapted to high temperatures for thousands of years.
- Thermoregulation: Birds have natural ways to cool down. For example, they open their bills to breathe quickly.
- Perfect parents: The parents know exactly what to do. When it is too hot, they open their wings to shade the chicks (like an umbrella), bring them water in their beaks, or cool them down directly.
12:09:02 Zica in - 2/ feeding - 12:09:18 Zica out (they chirped already some minutes before)
(12:09:02 - 12:09:18; 16 sec)
