Hello everyone :-)

youtube chat info by @LizNm

Hi, everyone! Bad end on the Latvian nest- The male has been absent since August 9th; the female brought one meal on each of two days. Then she, too, stayed away.
Everything depends on the availability of food. If supplementary feeding is provided—as is the case here—there is a good chance of a positive outcome.
Late broods continue into September if there is enough food.
I think, the little ones won't survive, even though they are now ready to fledge. They didn't have time to explore their surroundings.
And where the parents can't find anything, the chicks won't find anything either.

fingers crossed very, very much - it is hard to be optimistic .... I remember well what scenario Dr.Strazds wrote in 2021

Hello everyone :)

12:06:16 - Black stork arrives at the nest.

Tidying up the nest.

There is a visible small black spot, but that still isn't proof that it's Ogris.

12:10:02 - The stork jumps onto the left branch.

Image

12:28:24 - The stork jumps onto the branches above the nest.
13:13:17 - The stork flies off from the upper branches.

In any case, if that black stork is Ogris, in my opinion, the reason the young storks stopped being fed was likely a lack of food. It is very sad.
