​​Hi, everyone! Bad end on the Latvian nest- The male has been absent since August 9th; the female brought one meal on each of two days. Then she, too, stayed away.
​​Everything depends on the availability of food. If supplementary feeding is provided—as is the case here—there is a good chance of a positive outcome.
​​Late broods continue into September if there is enough food.
​​I think, the little ones won't survive, even though they are now ready to fledge. They didn't have time to explore their surroundings.
​​And where the parents can't find anything, the chicks won't find anything either.
