previous day (07.07) viewtopic.php?p=61157#p61157
next day (09.07)
July 08
Hello everyone
CHICKS
- 1st chick: 23 days old (hatched on 14.06)
EGGS

unhatched (laid on 13.05 at 22:22 and 16.05 at 02:05)
Stork chicks grow exponentially. 90 days in the nest is like 18-21 years for humans. This means that 1 day in the nest is like almost 3 months for a human child. That is why their transformation is so amazing and fast.

youtube chat info - thx to everyone
English translation only from now on – assisted by Gemini
YouTube comments do not reflect all nest events throughout the day, including chick feedings; therefore, the log is unfortunately incomplete.
Nest Activity Log 08/07/2026
The female (Kerli) has not visited the nest today. Her last recorded appearance was yesterday morning at 10:10, raising concerns among observers regarding her health and commitment to the delayed breeding attempt.
07:30:14 The male (Kergu) departed from the nest. The late-hatched chick remained unattended.
11:06:58 The chick was observed moving and foraging at the bottom of the nest.
12:17:59 The male (Kergu) arrived and attempted feeding. He regurgitated a very large pike, which was too large for the chick to swallow.
12:22:43 The male (Kergu) swallowed the large fish back down. (12:23:33 swallowed the fish completely into his crop)
12:31:34 The male (Kergu) regurgitated the fish for a second attempt.
12:41:28 The fish was swallowed back into the parent's crop for further softening.
13:03:14 The male (Kergu) regurgitated the fish again, but it was still too hard for the chick.
13:04:55 The fish was returned to the parent's crop.
13:24:31 The male (Kergu) regurgitated the fish once more.
13:25:03 Feeding successful. The chick successfully swallowed the large fish.
13:30 The male (Kergu) departed from the nest.
18:26 The male (Kergu) arrived at the nest.
18:27:45 Feeding. The chick snatched the fish directly from the male's bill and smoothly swallowed it. (and first one little fish)
18:38 The male (Kergu) departed from the nest.
Weather report & Nest conditions:
Heavy and continuous rainfall occurred throughout the night. The chick has outgrown the size where the brooding parent can fully shield it from precipitation.
A temporary break in the rain occurred mid-day, but moderate rain and strong winds returned, with a temperature of 15°C. Continuous rainfall resumed at 16:33 and was reported as ongoing and heavier than predicted by 19:02. The chick remained wet and vocal during the periods it was left alone on the nest.

Re: Pärnu county (Kergu + Kerli) / Must-toonekurg 3
It rained almost all night. Kergu didn't even try to sit down to protect the chick from the rain. He just stood over it, but unfortunately, it wasn't the typical "dadbrella" with wings spread wide. He flew away in the morning at 07:30:14. Before that, he spent a long time looking around, perhaps watching out for Kerli. The chick was chirping (since 07:06:13) intensely, begging for food.
