Today, Urmas caught another black stork on the Mustjõgi floodplain and equipped it with a GPS transmitter. This time it was an adult bird with a Latvian aluminum ring. It had already managed to lose its plastic ring. Born in 2018. It was named Janis.

Other details — such as its origin and the ringer's information — will likely be added to the Migration Map by Urmas himself once precise recovery data is received from the ringing center. For now, only a quick exchange of information took place via phone.
