Saltini Lake

Saltini Lake lies in the northwestern corner of the Aetolia–Acarnania region, about 15 km from the town of Vonitsa. It is a shallow lake covering around 0.11 km², with an artificial canal on its southern side that connects it to the Ionian Sea.
Despite its small size, Saltini Lake is an important resting and feeding site for many migratory birds. The area is also used locally for fishing, blending human activity with a rich natural habitat.
