Hello everyone
thx to our Madli for sharing
Today, the Karula Metsoja chicks were again at the supplementary feeding site asking for more. The feeding basket is about 500+ meters from the nest, near the statue (signpost). The adult bird and herons also continue to visit this feeding spot.

Karula National Park: Early this morning, they were also at the site with Urmas’s feeding basket, and the last time was Metsoja there at 12:45. After that, the bird with the transmitter made about a 30 km journey around the area and even managed to visit Latvia. By evening, it hadn’t returned to the nest and is now back on the Estonian side, near the border and about 10+ km from the nest. The likelihood of them returning to the feeding basket is low.

In Karula, the Metsoja nest chick with a transmitter came to the feeding basket in the morning to eat and then flew off to explore Latvia again, but by evening was back on the Estonian side, near the confluence of the ... and ... rivers — still about 10 km from the nest.

The juvenile stork Metsoja tagged this season is over 10 km away from the nest, and today it did not return to the nest or to the feeding site. It has also visited Latvia a couple of times but doesn’t seem eager to begin migration yet.
