Great news from Switzerland: Black storks are breeding there for the first time!

According to a new article on the Swiss news website SRF, biologist Lionel Maumary made a fantastic discovery in the canton of Vaud (Waadt) at the beginning of June. He found the very first confirmed nest of black storks in modern Swiss history.

Here are the main details:

- The nest: A pair of black storks is successfully breeding in the country.

- The chicks: The biologist found three healthy chicks, about two weeks old.

- Protection: The exact location of the nest is kept strictly secret to protect the birds from disturbance.

This is a wonderful success for bird conservation in Europe!
