NEST HISTORY
(KOO under streaming)
2021: For the first time in the history of ornithological research in Poland, a new nest was located thanks to tracking a young 4-year-old female (Skierka) equipped with a GPS-GSM logger.

male arrived on 13.04
In 2024, the male started a very late breeding with a new female, Tytania, who left the nest after heavy rains on July 12. Because the male fed very rarely, there was a dramatic situation of starvation of the only chick Kinderek. On July 25, a decision was made to remove the chick from the nest. Kinderek has been staying at the Animal Rehabilitation Center in Koło near Piotrków Trybunalski since then.

In 2023, the male Tytan returned on April 21 and occupied the nest until July 27.

In 2022 Skierka returned to the nest on March 12, but at the beginning of April she changes her location and starts breeding with another male in another nest in the Bolewice Forest District. However, the male arrives at the nest in the Wolsztyn Forest District only on April 30 and occupies it until August 20, when it flies away.

In 2021 the female Skierka started her first clutch here and laid three eggs, from which two chicks hatched. The breeding was a success.

- chicks: Skarlet 16J6, Tytus 17J6 (and one unhatched egg)
- ringing day: 30.06 (The chicks around 30 days old were in good shape and weighed 2270g and 2350g.)
- maiden flight: 04.08 the first chick
- migration: 21.08 both siblings
- female Skierka last seen on the nest on 18.08 - feeding (on 11.09 she arrived to his wintering area in Greece, Kerkini Lake area)
- male Tytan last seen on the nest on 20.08 - feeding

The nest is located in the Wolsztyn Forest District on a single old tree, a forest veteran: a sessile oak, 120 years old and 320 cm in circumference.
