Our storks appear on the map continuously when they reach areas with GSM coverage after starting their journey north.
in this thread we follow 1st time the tracked spring migration of the young female black stork named KERLI, 3-4 CY
(Kergu's sweetheart/nest in Pärnu County)
KERLI, colour ring number 719R - female black stork
- Kerli repeatedly visited Kergu / Kergu's nest to the end of the season before the capture and installation of the transmitter
- Kerli was caught on 17.07.2024 in Pärnu County, as part of the Black Stork survey of the Tootsi-Sop wind farm (survey was ordered by Enefit Green company) - birdmap info
- Kerli is a nice Estonian woman's name. The name Kerli means "light" or "gentle." It is a shortened form of name from the name Kertu, which in turn comes from the name Gertrud, which means "protection" or "strongness." Kerli is a lovely and elegant name associated with being gentle and light. https://www.name-days.com/now/name/et_ee/ee/kerli This name matches perfectly with our Kerli's personality and it matches nicely with Kergu.
