There is the country's first inland water pumping station, which is an industrial monument. The Sajfok Inland Water Regulation Company was founded in 1877 and built this inland water pumping station at the Hanyi Canal lock.

The typical twin chimneys of the building in Sajófok have been standing for a century and a half. It was then that the first inland water lifting pumping station of the Carpathian Basin was built in the border of Tiszasüly.
ven today, the monument-multiple pumping station could still operate, which preserves the memories of the past right next to the Tisza dam. This water exhibition space is unique in the country, as the steam pump, which was built in 1878 with an original English steam engine and pump, was extended in full force in 1888 with Hungarian-made equipment and remained in service until today.

In 1878, the Sajfok Inland Water Control Company built the country’s first steam-powered pumping station on the outskirts of Tiszasüly, on the right bank of the Tisza. The machines at that time represented the world standard and served until 1980. During the flood protection works of the Tisza Valley started in the middle of the 19th century, together with the embankments, locks were built at the mouth of the larger, permanent watercourses to allow the flow of inland waters collected in the exempted areas.

However, under , the locks had to be kept closed, so the inland waters at the same time as floods, especially in spring, caused frequent flooding. The construction of flood protection embankments was carried out by the companies founded by the interested landowners of the floodplain.

n 1877, a group of Jászság stakeholders, which suffers particularly hard from inland waters, formed the Sajfok Inland Regulatory Company, and in 1878, in addition to the bell-in-of-hoof-shooting in Sabifok, built the country’s first inland water lifting pumping station north of Tiszasüly. The equipment of the old pumping station is in such good condition that they could even be operated. Today, visitors are welcome as an object.
