Hello everyone
youtube chat info by prof. Piotr Zieliński
(stokrlets hatched 2024)
Filipek keeps going. On 3/08 was 90 km before Bucharest
FAla did not show any new items. On 1/08 was on the Keresz River in Hungary
and it was at the Keresz River that Filipek and FAla's paths diverged. They spent the night 60 km from each other.

Hi Tina,
thank you for update
I hope, Filipek is O.K. too. Fingers crossed!
What is last info about Fernando (hatched 2023 in the streamed nest)? When and from where did he last send data? What does Piotr think about the situation?
edit:
the same questions to Figo (male hatched 2022 in the streamed nest)

Hello Marikamarika.solo wrote: ↑08 Aug 2024, 11:45 What is last info about Fernando? When and from where did he last send data? What does Piotr think about the situation?
In my notes, last info about Fernando is from youtube chat on 14.07: "Fernando's transmitter sent the last signal on 22.12.2023 from Ethiopia and it is not known where he is now"
On 21.07 Lena Zet asked Piotr, if can be assumed that he's not alive and Piotr answered that "there is no reason to think that he's dead or alive. Rather his transmitter stopped working. He could have flown to the area from where there is no signal."
I hope he's fine!
Also from 14.07 youtube chat info: "Figo's transmitter sent signal. He was north of Warsaw and today he's transmitter sent signal from Wolborz area, which is more or less between Tomaszów Mazowiecki and Piotrków Trybunalski."marika.solo wrote: ↑08 Aug 2024, 11:45 the same questions to Figo (male hatched 2022 in the streamed nest)

Hi Tina, thank you for sharing the information about Fernando and Figo.
I would appreciate it if you could find a way to have more frequent information about the young storks with transmitter from the streamed nest and share it here with us. There is very rarely information on FB. But the description and commentary by the professor are always interesting.

Wieści z podróży
Młode bociany z gniazda online podały nowe pozycje
FAla i Filipek (razem wyleciały z gniazda 29.07.2024 o godz.

News from the trip
Young storks from online nest given new positions
FAla and Filipek (together they flew out of the nest on 29.07.2024 at 14:14) stayed in Hungary for four days and have already managed to separate. They are currently foraging over the Danube on the Romanian-Bulgarian (FAla) and Romanian-Serbian (Filipek) borders. They feed at a distance of about 80 km from each other. In Romania, their routes crossed twice, but on different days and thus they could not meet. Perhaps in the future they will come across each other, but it will be pure coincidence. FAla has already flown 1230 km since leaving the nest and Filipek 1790 km. In their flight to Africa they chose the eastern route, like most black and white storks from Poland.
We will keep you updated on their progress on their journey.
