Neviem kde je to bezpečnejšie teraz.
Neletí pomaly - len sa presunul 13.10. na svoju obvyklú zastávku.

Hello😉waba flies slowly, but it's good that it moves close to the Jordanian border!

I don't know where it's safer now
Waba does not fly slowly - stork just moved on 13.10. to the usual stop

Waba stopped for a few days in the Jordan River Valley - Beit She'an and fed on fish ponds every autumn migration

Existujú takzvané "stop-over sites" = dôležité miesta, kde sa vtáky zastavujú medzi migračnými letmi, aby si oddýchli, doplnili palivo a hľadali úkryt. (Niektoré druhy vtákov pred migráciou zdvojnásobia svoju telesnú hmotnosť.)
V prípade bocianov čiernych sa tieto miesta nachádzajú v Európe ("výkrm") a niektoré bociany neskôr odpočívajú niekoľko dní na rybníkoch v údolí Beit She'an (Izrael). Kuremari z Lotyšska v oboch sezónach tam strávila týždeň.

I thought they were trying to fly to Africa as fast as possible, but I find they are stopping in familiar places for several days on the way!

There are so-called stop-over sites = important locations where birds pause between migratory flights to rest, refuel, and seek shelter. (Some kind of birds double their body weight before migration.)
In the case of black storks, these sites are situated in Europe ("fattening") and some of storks rest later for several days on ponds in the Beit She'an valley (Israel). The Latvian Kuremari both sesason one week.
