Hello everyone
where is our Krum moving?
1) Northern part (right side) of the river Maros (area of Maroslele) - belongs to the Körös-Maros National Park
2) Southern part (left side) of the river Maros (area of Klárafalva and Ferencszállás) - is Natura 2000 SPA
The floodplain in this area is quite wide covered mainly by forests.

Heron colonies can be found in several places along the river, and the golden eagle (Haliaeetus albicilla) and the black stork (Ciconia nigra) find suitable nesting places in the extensive forests. According to the latest surveys, the pond bat population (Myotis dasycneme) in the forests along the Maros is also significant.
Most of the black storks leave Hungary in late September or early October, but some stay even later.

In mid-August, a large flock of Black Storks was feeding in the Cserebökény area of the Körös-Maros National Park.
The birds were feeding in the sweltering heat in Szentes-Terehalm, at the bottom of the canal that supplies water to the Veker-ér, in the shrinking wetland and on nearby grasslands. A total of 46 black storks, 17 great egrets, 5 grey herons and 8 spoonbills were in the area.

In late summer and early autumn, small to large flocks of Black Storks can be seen gathering in the calming wetlands of the Körös-Maros National Park. Most recently, for example, a rather large flock of 150 individuals was seen near Öcsöd. They had moved to night resting into floodplain area of the "Triple Körös" (Hármas-Körös) - Álom-zugi holtág (oxbow lake)
