I am not able to follow more nests in detail.
It seems that although the stork has already prepared a nice nest, he still doesn't have a female. (I think we saw two different ones here before.)
2. JUODASIS GANDRAS.
2. BLACK STORK. The male seems to keep bringing moss to the nest and laying it on the roost, but the female has not been seen for some time. She may have been frightened by the barn owls that have been attacking her for a few days and left. We hope that she will come back and breed.
in the morning our male stork again visited his nest
arrival 8.57 with moss -
some nest restoration - resting observing the area around (both activity repeatedly) - preening (longer and very nice) ... he is shortly singing at 09.20 and no with fanned tail feathers + at 9.30 with fanned tail feathers (and started working again)
- 11.56 male arrived singing - tail feathers fanned, he is observing the surounding
- 11.89 short singing and moving the nest material (shortly)
- 12.04 he is yawning, 12.06 short nest restoration begins (mostly strengthening the nest rim)
12.20 our male settled down
13.10 he stand up. pooped and than again settled down - position change
- male is collecting the soft material and is resting, moving the nest material, resting and so on
- around 13.20 male stand up and is again working with the nest material (really very busy)
- 13.28 waiting - resting, observing (stretching the left wing and leg)
