POLAND Nests in Świętokrzyskie Province (monitoring with MMS)

One more time I'm very sorry for this HUGE late with review data publication! Current season is so different and so strange in comparison to all previous in my life...

For start short summary for Babski Las, this place left abandoned by C.nigra by all season, but we catch there few interesting infos:

• in June tawny owl (Strix aluco) made several night visits
  
  
  
  
  
  

• currently nest looks like small jungle thanks to last season "fertilization"

On Chrustowice nest May and June were VERY SURPRISING:

• "single" bird was still present
  
  

• ... and SUDDENLY FIRST EGG appear, on aaround 3/05
  
  

• finally we saw both birds on nest, but till 8/05 no more eggs appear
  
  
  
  

• on 9/05 second egg is visible quite good to recognise and from 19/05 three eggs are in nest, in meantime we find the hard prouf how to black storks sleep in truth

Hopefully we have good news from local obserwator - chick is in nest in good condition!

From Kaczka we got only small research before visit with bands:

We ringed three pull. in very good condition.

Pawęzów checks before banding time showed typical and stable situation:

Similar situation in Ruszcza nest - also three pull. but this time from even fastest breeding:

In Rzemienowice nest stork family must feel very comfortably

• from 5 eggs 4 pull. with really good condition on ringing and "professional" parents care
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  
  

• at now juv. birds spend night around nest on tree

Looking in to history of Szczeka nest:

• we find confirmation about 4 eggs already at end of April
  
  
  
  

• whole incubation was very stable
  
  

• in middle of May pull. occur
  
  
  
  
  
  

• one from chicks looks for quite smaller than others and was probably eliminated around 19~23/05

According to power source usage and high amount of recorded data by devices on nests with juvenalis birds, we hold up all wireless review transfers via MMS. We would collect complete data till end of season and after take down devices process as complete as possible data. I promise to share with Forum summaries in numbers from each nest with added some example pictures direct from devices (in good quality and resolution).
