TRASY BOCIANICH WĘDRÓWEK
Większość bocianów czarnych z Polski do Afryki leci szlakiem wschodnim - przez Turcję. Tymczasem jeden z bocianów z Nadleśnictwa Kutno RDLP w Łodzi wybrał szlak zachodni.
Wędrówkę z okolic Kutna rozpoczął
2.08.2023. Poleciał na zachód kierując się na Koło, Konin, Leszno, Zgorzelec, Drezno i Lipsk.
Od 17.08 do 7.09 żerował w Turyngii w środkowych Niemczech, gdzie poruszał się w dolinach rzek Werra i Suhl. Kolejną dłuższą przerwę – 12 dni - zrobił sobie nad Loarą w środkowej Francji

25 września opuścił Francję i przeleciał na Pirenejami wznosząc się na maksymalną wysokość 2005 m n.p.m. Później trzy razy zanocował w Hiszpanii
i 28 września doleciał do Atlantyku.
Przez Cieśninę Gibraltarską przeleciał w miejscu gdzie szerokość cieśniny wynosi 27 km
. Sam przelot przez Cieśninę Gibraltarską trwał zaledwie 29 minut!
Po wlocie do Afryki do pokonania miał jeszcze góry Atlas i Saharę. Przelatując nad Atlasem Wysokim wzniósł się na imponującą wysokość 4221 m n.p.m. Dopiero nad Saharą wyraźnie obniżył loty i leciał na wysokości 800 – 1200 m n.p.m.
W końcu5.10.2023 nasz bocian doleciał nad rzekę Senegal oddzielającą Mauretanię od Senegalu. Był to jednocześnie koniec jego jesiennej wędrówki.
9.10.2023 bocian z Nadleśnictwa Kutno zrobił sobie jeszcze małą wycieczkę nad sam brzeg Atlantyku w Mauretanii.
Cała trasa z Nadleśnictwa Kutno do Senegalu miała długość ok. 5600 km. Nasz bocian pokonał ją w ciągu 65 dni!
Aktualnie żeruje w południowej Mauretanii w odległości około 30 km od granicy z Senegalem.
Od Fernando, Figo i Fago na razie nie mamy nowych informacji.🫡

STORK MIGRATION ROUTES
Most black storks from Poland to Africa fly along the eastern route - through Turkey. Meanwhile, one of the storks from the Kutno Forest District RDLP in Łódź chose the western route.
He started his journey from the Kutno area on August 2, 2023. He flew west, heading for Koło, Konin, Leszno, Zgorzelec, Dresden and Leipzig.
From August 17 to September 7, it foraged in Thuringia in central Germany, where it moved in the valleys of the Werra and Suhl rivers. He took another longer break - 12 days - on the Loire River in central France.
On September 25, he left France and flew over the Pyrenees, rising to a maximum height of 2,005 m above sea level. Later he spent the night in Spain three times and on September 28 he reached the Atlantic.
He flew through the Strait of Gibraltar at a place where the width of the strait is 27 km. The flight through the Strait of Gibraltar itself took only 29 minutes!
After entering Africa, he still had to cross the Atlas Mountains and the Sahara. Flying over the High Atlas Mountains, it rose to an impressive height of 4,221 m above sea level. Only over the Sahara did he significantly lower his flight and fly at an altitude of 800 - 1,200 m above sea level.
Finally 5/10/2023 our stork reached the Senegal River separating Mauritania from Senegal. It was also the end of his autumn journey.
On October 9, 2023, stork from the Kutno Forest District took a small trip to the very shore of the Atlantic in Mauritania.
The entire route from the Kutno Forest District to Senegal was approximately 5,600 km long. Our stork overcame it in 65 days! Currently, it is feeding in southern Mauritania, approximately 30 km from the border with Senegal.
We have no new information from Fernando, Figo and Fago for now.🫡

Niestety pracę logerów zakłóca ciągle bardzo niespokojna sytuacja na Bliskim Wschodzie. Zapewne dlatego Figo (wykluty w gnieździe online w 2022 r.) pokazał swoją pozycję 19.04.2024 r. od razu z Rumunii, bez pokazania drogi przez Izrael, Syrię i Turcję.
Nasz inny bocian, wykluty w 2023 r. (w gnieździe w Nadleśnictwo Złoczew Lasy Państwowe), 15 kwietnia 2024 r. żerował sobie spokojnie nad rzeką Jordan w Jordanii. Ale tego samego dnia jego loger wskazał jeszcze pozycję na lotnisku w Kairze i w Bejrucie. Ewidentnie wynika to z zakłócania sygnału GPS.
Unfortunately, the loggers' work is still disturbed by the very unsettled situation in the Middle East. Probably this is why FIGO (hatched in the nest online in 2022) showed his position on 19.04.2024 straight from Romania, without showing the way through Israel, Syria and Turkey.
Our other stork, hatched in 2023 (in a nest in the Zloczew Forestry District National Forest), was foraging peacefully on 15.04.2024 at the Jordan River in Jordan. But on the same day its logger still indicated a position at Cairo airport and Beirut. Evidently this is due to interference with the GPS signal.
