In the footsteps of legends
google translator without corrections yet)

Our community, as we have already stated several times, has a relatively short historical past. That is why it was not surprising to me when I read in some of the books on the subject that his folk costume is uncharacteristic. Most typical leather dresses are: suba, fog, “breasted”. Habits with zithers, weddings, nameday and pig story can be highlighted. Sometime there was a vivid instrumental, (citer) life. Previously, the New Year’s servants’ rioting was also a big event. What I was a little more surprised is that according to the writings, the witch and the taltos of the village was very rich. The superstitious stories, the older ballads, the historicals, the summatic songs, still live alive.
I've been wondering if there's an old story of the above. Here it is:
According to the legend, the Baghy Hill in the Krassol has ever hidden fabulous treasures. According to the folk remembrance, a poor shepherd’s shrewd the dog of Gyula Bagi to the surface, which made his owner suddenly richer. They named the mob after the shepherd, Baghy Hill.
Is there a basis for this narrative? His protagonist, as we know, was a real person, but probably not about him, but rather about one of his ancestors, the original version of the story.
The Baghy family from Szécsény received a noble letter with a coat of arms in 1622 through Balázs Baghy, János and István II. King Ferdinand. The family then lived in Szécsény, Nógrád County, and the nobility was announced at the general meeting of the county in August 1622. At the beginning of the 18th century, some branches of the family moved to Bács, Csongrád and Heves-Kons-Szolnok counties. The name of József Bagi (1800-1886), the “parasnabob” from the Csongrád County branch, was known all over the country, as the social newspapers of the time regularly wrote about it because of its eccentricity.
His memory was captured by nearly a hundred villages and cities of ten counties in anecdotes. For example, the Sanka people also attribute the origin of Mr. Bagi's property to a random treasure. There's more to that evidence.
Here is one: Bagi's dog out there was just a son. The farmer brought the food to him. Once he looked at the puppies, he saw that there was a lot of gold under the sand. He dug up and bought the big estate. According to the other story, in the sumar the dog began to scratch. But dill properly. The old man shared looked at what was there. That's where he found all the money. He's got over the rich.
The figure of the “parastnábob” was characterized by the fact that he wore blue abaping clothes and mands, put a red olive in his trousers in his trousers, and thus his clothing could deceive both Mr. and peasants deceived both his husband and peasant. He, on the other hand, was a mockery of him because of his peasant condition: his cunning, his wealth, his self-respect, he helped him to fry each other. Thus it is understandable that the tradition sometimes connected stories related to the person of King Matthias, and at other times our folk tales that walks on earth to Jesus Christ.
Such is the story, for example, when, at a young age, he went in search of his dog wandering as a sheep-scared herd. He found the puli at the foot of a hawthorn bush, where he was rejuvenated and nests for his puppies. In the scraping ground and Bagi noticed glittering gold. He brought the puli home, but did not tell the farmer about his discovery, but he secretly returned and dug up the treasure in the ground. He became a rich man, but he did not change his way of life, his behavior and clothing, so later he was called a baron, mandly millionaire When he was already in the wilderness, bare, studs, his flocks, he walked from one wilderness to the other. Along the way, he arrived at a gentleman, where, exhausted by the long walking, he lay down in a chariot and fell asleep. Meanwhile, the lord was looking for a cane. Seeing the muddy stranger in the chariot, he asked what he was doing, whether he would not be able to join the gentleman. "I, if they pay well," replied Bagi. - What would you ask? - That was another question. - No more, just give me room and pastures and food for my dogs. The Ispán did not ask any more questions, the agreement was made, and a moron arrived in the estate a few days later, a stud the next day, then a beautiful silky sheep. The Isapa was terrified to see that they had occupied all their pastures, and began to inquire, whose many things were, and why they were driven into the lands of the lordship. He finally learned from Bagi that all their possessions would not be enough to meet the conditions of the canonist’s intrigue.
The figure of the “parasnabob”, sooner or later appeared in the literature as well. Mór Jókai: And yet his novel The Earth is moving, his not quite uniformly depicted peasant character, Mr. Máté Tóth, in the notebook of the writer, is still known as Bagi. The rich peasant of Szentes is already featured in his own name Jókai in his book Jocus and Momus, through several pages.
Mr. Bagi appears e.g. Tamási: In her stage work entitled Wave Groom, and in several short stories written by Kálmán Mikszáth. (P.: My Bagi sir in a fuchk 1884, Parast maubanists 1883.)
We can see that the “baron with pants” – among the wealth of the wealth and the simplicity among the poor – was very popular. So much so that between 1861 and 1868 he was even elected the chief judge of Csongrád.
Despite the legendary richness of the “parastnáb”, he did not even put on the castle meetings with a festive dress, one that would have belonged to his wealth and noble status, but he traveled there only in peasant mocking, fur and peasant space, like any other place. For his children, however, he provided up with the education adapted to the noble way of life, and for the construction of the new estates, the means of mansion on the newly acquired estates.
Well, from the world of legends, let's get into reality and see how his fate threw the Baghy family into Pusztanygyel!

Baghy family
https://www.arcanum.com/hu/online-kiadv ... salad-2BB/

Ifj. István Szécsényben, és András, Mihály, György*; Borbála Nagy Jánosné, és 1761-ben másik Borbála Nagy Mihályné. E családból egyik ág a kurucz világban leszármazott a jászföldre is. És ugyan e családhoz látszik tartozni azon Baghi József is, ki 1630-ban esztergomi kanonok volt, és 1642-ben halt meg Érsekujvárott, hol plebánosságot viselt*.

Balás Baghy and with him István Baghy and John II. King Ferdinand was enchanted in a cycmer letter from 1622 junide. Their letter was proclaimed in Nógrád County on 23 August of that year. According to this county, this county was a nest of this family, which seems to have come from Heves. It happened in 1684. In the case of the noble examination of 1734, the sons of John, Andrew, Ferencz, and Balás István are written among the undoubted ones; Gábor and István, the sons and grandchildren of the former John, are written among the authors of the Nejság. He lived in 1755. I'm Jr. István in Szécsény, and András, Mihály, György * ; Borbála Nagy Jánosné, and in 1761 another Borbála Nagy Mihályné. One of the branches of this family in the Kurdz world was also descended into the Jász-land. And although it seems to belong to this family, who was a canon of Esztergom in 1630, and in 1642 he died in Érsekujvár, sometimes he endured Pleasantness.
