Skierka, female hatched 2017

in this thread we follow Skierka, adult female from the streamed nest in Bolewice Forest District - last season mate of male Bolek (we follow her 6th spring migration)

SKIERKA - ring number VT3726

- Skierka is adult female, 6 CY - hatched 2017 in Skierniewice Forest District
(a bird is 1CY = calendar year from the day it hatches until midnight on 31 December, it is 2CY for the next 12 months, etc.)
- Skierka was equipped with a leg-mount transmitter and we followed her migration on an online map within the Stork Project "BocianiMy" as Żółty (= Yellow - because yellow transmitter) - BOCZ 07 ZOL (in LKF documented in detail first by me, Solo in LKF, later by Hana)

Wintering place: Greece, Kerkini NP
- in the season 2017/2018, her first wintering, Skierka wintered in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, in Tabuk area (circle irrigated fields)
- next seasons Skierka is wintering in Greece, in the wider area of the Lake Kerkini National Park

Czas powrotów bocianów czarnych!
W Polsce zima, ale mimo to uprzejmie zawiadamiamy, że ... SKIERKA wyruszyła wczoraj z Grecji do Polski

Prawdopodobnie stanie na chwilę w Serbii, ale wędrówka wiosenna w jej wykonaniu jest bardzo krótka (7-10 dni), więc przed 15 marca powinna być już przy gnieździe / gniazdach.

It will probably stay in Serbia for a while, but the spring hike in her performance is very short (7-10 days), so she should be at the nest / nests before March 15.

Pierwszy bocian czarny już w Polsce!

Dzisiaj Skierka powróciła z greckiego zimowiska

do Nadleśnictwa Bolewice. Po drodze minęła wszystkie znane sobie w sumie 8 gniazd i zapadła na jednym z ulubionych żerowisk pomiędzy jeziorami Miedzichowskiego Parku Krajobrazowego. W 8 dni pokonała

1520 km, czyli w szybkim wiosennym tempie. Po drodze zatrzymała się tylko na jeden dzień w Rezerwacie Stawy Milickie, ale raczej tylko dlatego, że wczoraj był na N Polski zimny front i porywisty wiatr. Witamy w kraju

Today Skierka returned from her Greek wintering grounds

to Bolewice Forestry District. Along the way she passed all the nests she knew for a total of 8 nests and stopped at one of her favourite feeding grounds between the lakes of Miedzichowski Park Krajobrazowy. In 8 days she covered 1520 km, a fast spring pace. Along the way she only stopped for one day at the Reserve Stawy Milickie, but rather only because there was a cold front and gusty wind in N Poland yesterday. Welcome to the country
